Our Approach

At Hayden Dental, we take a preventative approach to Dental Care; our dentists like to see you regularly for a check-up to pre-empt any future problems, and to help keep you pain-free and smiling.   Our primary goal is to establish and maintain good oral health for you and your family.  Our Dentists, Hygienists and Nurses have a wealth of experience and pride themselves on their friendly, empathetic approach.

James Hayden and his wife Katie took over the practice in October 2013 from Stewart Lewis, who practiced in Blue Street, Carmarthen for almost 30 years.  The practice itself has been around for over 60 years. Many of our patients, who travel from across West Wales - Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion, as well as further afield, remember visiting not only Stewart, but also his predecessor, Arnie!

We are incredibly proud of our premises on Castle Hill, Carmarthen, which we moved into in April 2016, and finished entirely rebuilding in early 2019.  We have personally and specifically designed every aspect of the new practice to provide beautiful, modern, state-of-the-art facilities and clinical space. Our philosophy for providing world-class dental care whilst maintaining a relaxed atmosphere and a family feel remains at the heart of our design and our day-to-day operations.

• Providing top-quality, patient-focussed family dental care in a relaxed and friendly environment

• Working preventatively - we aim to spot potential problems early so that we can act early, or give you the appropriate advice to avoid future pain or problems (for this reason, we ask you to attend regularly, even when you are not suffering with any tooth problems).
  
• Listening carefully to your requirements and needs and explaining your treatment options and the associated costs in advance
  
• Excellent Communication.  Our Associate Dentists, Teleri Perks, Cerys Edwards, and Sara Herbert-Evans, as well as many of our nurses speak Welsh, so please let us know if you would rather communicate in Welsh
  
• Running on time wherever possible, and keeping you informed if there is an unavoidable delay

• Take good care of your teeth and heed our advice

• Attend for regular check ups (at least once a year or as agreed with your Dentist)
  
• Give us a minimum of 24 hours notice (ideally more) if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment(s)
  
• Pay for your treatment when requested
  
• Give us feedback: let us know when you are happy, and what could be improved
  
• Recommend us to your family, friends and colleagues, and review us on Google+, Facebook, or Working Feedback
