For some patients, visiting the dentist feels incredibly daunting. Our aim is to make every visit as comfortable, calm and positive as possible.

Will Gough is our sedation dentist, trained in adult and child inhalation sedation (gas and air). He can provide sedation for patients who feel nervous or anxious about dental treatment, helping them feel more relaxed while still remaining awake and able to communicate with the dental team.

Inhalation sedation, often referred to as 'gas & air', involves breathing a carefully controlled mixture through a small nosepiece. It can help reduce anxiety and make dental treatment feel more manageable, particularly for patients who find dental visits stressful.

Will provides a calm, reassuring approach and takes the time to understand each patient's concerns before treatment. For children and adults alike, he works closely with the patient, parents or carers, and the dental team to create a supportive and comfortable experience.

Our sedation clinic is supported by experienced Dental Nurses Ela and Katie, and Treatment Coordinator, Luke Heap, who is the point of contact for all patients and referring clinicians.

The cost for sedation is £250 plus the usual cost for the treatment you are having.

If you feel anxious about dental treatment, you’re not alone. For some adults, dental anxiety can make even routine appointments feel overwhelming — and sometimes it can lead to avoiding the dentist altogether.

We offer inhalation sedation ('gas and air') to help suitable adult patients feel calmer and more relaxed during dental treatment. You remain awake and able to communicate with the dental team throughout, but many patients find that treatment feels much easier to cope with.

We can also use the Wand® computer-controlled local anaesthetic system, which delivers the anaesthetic slowly and gently to help make the injection more comfortable. This can be particularly helpful for patients who are nervous about needles or the sensation of having local anaesthetic.

Our approach is centred around taking things at your pace, explaining each stage clearly and helping you feel in control throughout your visit.
