We are delighted to announce that Dr Rohini Mohan joined the Hayden Dental Team in March 2024.
Rohini is a Specialist Paediatric Dentist, and the Clinical Lead for Paediatric Dentistry in Swansea Bay UHB and Powys Teaching HB. Rohini joined the team at Hayden Dental in 2024 to establish a new children’s dental referral service in West Wales, and runs regular Specialist Children's clinics.
It’s very exciting to have joined forces to establish a unique and innovative specialist children's dental service for South West Wales - particularly since, even in more urban settings, Specialist Paediatric Dentistry is rarely available in general dental practices and is usually only accessible within a hospital setting.
We welcome Rohini’s expertise and total passion for children’s dentistry, and have invested in new specialist equipment and training to support her clinic. For example, we can now offer 'The Wand' pain-free injection system, and will soon be able to offer services such as sedation.
Rest assured, your child will have a positive experience from the beginning in a calm, supportive environment tailored to their specific needs.
A new way to access care
Often faced with lengthy hospital waiting lists within the NHS, we believe that parents should have the options to access care privately for their children within a local practice setting. Specialist treatments include:
- Management of patients with complex treatment needs including aesthetic and restorative management
- Endodontic management of permanent dentition following trauma
- Pulp therapy and Hall Crowns for deciduous dentition
- Aesthetic and preventive management of fluorosis and hypomineralisation
- General treatment under RA (gas & air)
- All treatment under Local Anaesthetic undertaken with ’The Wand’ pain-free injection system.
Referral Pathway
Dentists may refer patients for a second opinion and treatment planning, or to have treatment completed at Hayden Dental. All cases referred will be acknowledged by our team and, following assessment, a full written report will be sent to the patient and the referring dentist.
Following completion of treatment, your patient will be referred back to you to manage their ongoing care with a summary of completed treatment, and any recommendations for ongoing management.
Rohini's clinic is supported by experienced Dental Nurse and Treatment Coordinator, Kylie Murphy, who is the point of contact for all patients and referring clinicians. Clinics are also supported by our Oral Health Educator, Celia Lewis, and our Dental Therapist, Sue Davies.
